Danner Ripstop Overshirt Castle Wall

Lightweight Protection from Sun and Wind

A good overshirt is like a good hiking buddy who’s always got your back and can go with the flow. Rugged and versatile, this heritage-inspired piece is constructed from tear-resistant 100% Cordura® nylon ripstop with zig-zag stitch reinforcement. It’s designed to protect you from the sun and wind, while holding up against branches and prickly burs. On warmer days, you can wear it comfortably as an airy, loose-fitting shirt. Or when conditions call for it, as a windbreaker thrown over a base layer like our Octo Pullover.

Surprisingly lightweight given its durability, the Ripstop boasts an abundance of special features—roomy chest and mesh-lined slot pockets for stowing snacks and essentials, articulated elbows for effortless range of motion, ring snap closures, a vintage-style hem, signature Danner bootlace loop on the collar for hanging, and a large mesh yoke liner with a ventilated gusset to help you keep your cool when the trail heats up.
